Academy Staff Members
Applications for staff are still being accepted for the 2012 Group IV Cadet Training Academy to be held at Coral Springs Charter School, Feb 17-Feb 19. All staff have preferably attained the grade of C/SSgt or above and have completed a CTA in the past. Please see attached ops order for duty descriptions.

What is the Cadet Training Academy?
The Cadet Training Academy ("CTA") is a leadership development school for cadets, staffed and managed by cadets. Cadet Officers from around South Florida manage the Academy and its courses with support from Group VI Headquarters.
What is the Airman Leadership School?
The Airman Leadership School ("ALS") course at CTA is designed to develop new cadets into effective followers. The ALS focuses on customs and courtesies, attitude, discipline, CAP knowledge, effective communications, drill, and followership.
What is the NCO School?
The NCO School course at CTA is designed to help cadets who have or are about to earn the Wright Brothers Milestone Award to develop into effective managers and leaders. Followership skills are polished, communications skills are enhanced, and mentoring skills are taught.
What is the Basic Officer School?
The Basic Officer School ("BOS") is a course designed by a Spaatz Cadet who saw a need to better train cadet CMSgts and Officers in how to effectively run a cadet squadron and lead their fellow cadets. This course is customized each time to the students who register. Students learn what is expected of them in their duty position. Emphasis is placed on the chain of command, the team environment, ethics, command presence, and critical thinking.
